Who are we?
The Deakin Mature Age Student Club (MASC) is a social and support club for mature age students, run by mature age students, and based out of Deakin’s Burwood Campus.
Who can join?
Membership is open to everyone, but our group is targeted at Mature Age Students. Any Deakin student who is over 21 years of age at the commencement of their degree is considered a Mature Age Student.
Our membership is incredibly diverse, including full-time, part-time, undergraduate, and postgraduate students; some are single, some partnered, some have kids, and some work. There is a place for everyone at MASC.
As mature age students ourselves, we understand the diverse backgrounds and unique challenges faced by mature age students when starting or returning to study. Our aim is to support our members as they navigate the exciting but also challenging world of university life.
Having a strong, supportive peer network is an invaluable asset for completing your studies. Our club can provide you with this peer network! We offer support and study assistance both online via our Facebook, twitter, and our Deakin sync community page and on campus as well as social events throughout the year for mature age students.
Some of our past events have included Meet and Greets, Trivia Nights, Wine and Cheese nights, Coffee catch ups, and of course our end of year MASCed Ball.
How to join:
You can join us through DUSA reception, Building H, level 1 or through DUSA online.
